The Amami Islands celebrated the 70th anniversary of returning to the mainland on December 25, 1955.This book contains about 500 photos taken in various parts of the Amami Islands during the Showa, Heisei and Ordinance, and looks back on the 70 -year step.
Five valuable color photos taken by Professor Douglas Harling, a professor of American anthropologists in 1964 and 27, under US military rule, were posted on the U.S. military rule.At the same time, as a figure of the Heisei and Ordinance’s further flashing hometown, we have taken up the registration of the World Natural Heritage Site, participated in Oshima High School Koshien, and the newly built Amami City Hall.
In the main story, the record of the U.S. military government, which will be unveiled for the first time, and various photos after returning the mainland.In addition to shopping streets and townscape, there are many cuts that have nostalgic memories, such as working figures, festivals, events, and schools.It also introduces Hashike, who was active when riding on a ship, the land of memories of the writer Toshio Shimao, and the capture episode of Mangus that disturbed the ecosystem.
He edited these nostalgic photos in the hope that they will be a book that illuminates their hometown.There is also a page of “Furusato Essay” as an article unique to this book.
With a limited publication of the first edition of 1,500 copies, no reprinting will be performed.
